This drill is designed to help you practice the art of entering
a traffic pattern at an airport, such as a class D or uncontrolled,
where you would not expect to get vectors from ATC, like we do so
often learning to fly here at Long Island MacAurthur airport.
As you click through the different approach directions to the different
airports, try and determine what runways could be in use.
For example, below you are Approaching Airport A from the North,
your heading indicator would show a southerly heading, and looking
at the runway, you could expect to enter a mid-field left downwind
entry for runway 6, on a 45 degree angle.
What landmarks would you use to help yourself set up properly? |
