Basic Steps (ongoing changes - summer 2024)
- The TSA's process changed significantly in the summer of 2024.
- The rollout of the changes to their website did not go smoothly and the process seems a bit more complicated.
- We are all learning as we go, and fortunately we have been able to help clients navigate the new system and get authorization to begin flight training.

Basic Steps (prior to the changes in summer 2024)
Typically, most clients will have and Introductory Flying Lesson with us, then:
  -
You will create an FTSP account, and submit the required information
  -
We will then be asked to "Validate" your request (this step seems to have been elimantated - summer 2024)
  -
You will then pay the TSA the $130 application fee (price subject to change)
  -
After the security check is complete, you will be given instructions on how to get fingerprinted
  -
After your fingerprints are submitted, we will be "Given Permission to Initiate Training"

  -
You will then have 180 days to begin training
  -
Your initial training request will be valid for 365 days (after which you will have to start a new request)
